Octadecation refers to the 18th hyperoperation starting from addition. It is equal to \(a \uparrow^{16} b\) in Knuth's up-arrow notation.

Octadecation can be written in array notation as \(\{a,b,16\}\) and in chained arrow notation as \(a \rightarrow b \rightarrow 16\).

Octadecational growth rate is equivalent to \(f_17(n)\) in the fast-growing hierarchy.
